Inside Hasluck - News Update
Judith in her role as Patron Senator for the electorate of Hasluck takes a great interest in local issues. In August 2008 she was updated on the status of different projects in the electorate, such as the Swan Riverside Regional Park in Midland (photo).
This great project received $1.02m of funding from Regional Partnerships, a program which has been axed by the Rudd Government only a few months ago.

In their routine called ‘Une Affaire De Femmes’ the students from Lesmurdie Senior High School depicted different stages of female emancipation, such as the petticoat-swinging 50ies. They were awarded fourth place at the challenge.

Mental Health: Together with Peter Mcdowell, Liberal candidate for Midland, Judith met residents of the Swan Crisis Unit in Midland. The house offers short-term housing for up to six women and men in personal distress, including homelessness.

Access to the Swan Crisis Unit gives them the chance to get back into the community system, supervised by professionals like Case Worker Melinda (2nd from left) and St. Bartholomew's House’s CEO Lynne Evans (r.) in a home-like environment.

Workforce Shortage: Sandra Wallis, Executive Director Swan Chamber of Commerce, and Craig Verrier, President Swan Chamber of Commerce, gave Judith an update on the current development of the planned ATC Midland.
