Perth ACC will become a part of into a new institutional body called ‘Regional Development Australia’ (RDA) – the successor body of the established the Area Consultative Committees (ACC) Network with its 54 not-for-profit and community-based offices.
Currently, a series of "roundtable" forums are being held by each ACC throughout Australia. This has given local governments and community groups all over Australia the opportunity to get together to talk about a future model which will work for them.
“The Regional Partnership Program has been a great success in Western Australia”, Judith said. “Without it, many good community projects could not have continued with their crucial work.”
Judith was very disappointed when the Rudd Government only recently again denied funding for another 27 community projects under the Regional Partnerships Program – despite the Minister for Regional Development’s promise to offer them a contract.
